Okay, so I have, like many of you, all of these Star Wars soundtrack CD's lying around, conveniently ripped to mp3 so that I may enjoy them on my computer, iPod, and whatever.

But, Williams, in his infiniate something-or-other, put the tracks in some not-story-based order.

This is not okay! I want my SW soundtracks to go like my LotR ones, you know? I want to close my eyes and say, "okay, that's the trash compactor..." and have it be followed by "Hope that last chat you had with Qui had the blue ghostie lesson in it, bunky."

But I know that my friends list has no small number of mad, nay, rabid SW fen on it. Surely one of you has been maddened by this same thing! The world is vast and full of geeks; surely someone has put an order together that's at least semi-chronological.

Any help appreciated...

I don't own any of the Star Wars soundtracks so I cannont comment on them directly. I will have to pick them up. I love John Williams.

I know other artists have rearranged soundtracks to work themeatically. The first one that comes to mind is Christopher Franke with some of the Babylon 5 stuff.

And I'm okay with that as an artistic choice, really I am. It's my personal aesthetics that are currently grumpy...

You could make your own in-order mix cd as a public service to all the rest of us who'd prefer them in movie order, too? I know, that's not much help.

I don't (yet)own either SW or LotR soundtracks, but the tracks certainly make me happy when they show up on my launchcast station.

- envious of your linepartystuff, one of many reasons it'd be nice to live near that Bay area

Thbpt, no, that doesn't help.

I know I saw something like this done for the Phantom Menace soundtrack, just have no idea where...
