[hosting] SSH Host Keys Changed on Lorien

If you use ssh to connect to my server, lorien, you care about this post.

If you don't know what that means, you almost certainly don't care and don't need to.

I just upgraded SSH and in the process accidentally overwrote the sundry host keys on lorien. So, if you try to login and get the error message that complains about "man-in-the-middle attacks," or "hijacking your connection," neither of these are actually the case. If your client offers the option, simply accept and save the new key.

Clients that do not offer this option are most notably the command-line ones on the various unix-like operating systems, OS X and Linux included. In this case, either edit the lines containing lorien, lorien.snugharbor.com, or 64.81.54.52 from your ~/.ssh/known_hosts file or, if that sounded like gibberish, remove the file entirely: rm ~/.ssh/known_hosts

Enjoy!

Hi. Nothing to do with the post, just wanted to let you know who I am, since I'm adding you to my friends list. Long time, no chat...

Well, mostly good. Life's ben pretty hectic the last few years. How are you?

I'm gonna do my best to be at fest this coming year. I missed it this year as I was helping my grandmother die.

*hugs* to both you and Diana.
