Server FTP Problem Fixed
Jul. 3rd, 2004 12:32 amWritten in that variant of Old Entish known as Hackish, dialect Incident Report, because I am Tired:
Several users reported that files uploaded to web sites via FTP were not displaying in browsers, instead returning a 403 Forbidden error.
Overly restrictive permissions (umask 027) were being enforced on all files uploaded via FTP, and this has since been fixed. All new files uploaded to the new server will have their permissions properly set (umask 022) for viewing with web browsers.
If you need any previously uploaded files fixed, you can either fix it yourself by deleting and re-uploading the file, or contact me via e-mail or an LJ reply and I'll fix it for you. Please include the name of the affected site(s) and/or file(s).

PS: No domains or users moved today, as admin required application of significant patch and minor kernel upgrade at Elkhorn Slough/Moss Landing remote site. Restored and new modules of the hostmistress's kernel were loaded and are running successfully.
