I am very-so happy with it and the entire idea of Mirkwood silk (as I find myself thinking of it, from time to time).

I've spun banana spider silk, back before I really knew how to spin (or owned a spindle). Now that my skill has caught up (I have the equipment and know how to use it), I am saddened by the current lack of webbage in my neighborhood.

Spiders make several kinds of silk, with slightly different characteristics. I suspect the reason they had to gather this at a particular time of year was to make sure it was the right kind of silk.
