Yeah, okay, so [livejournal.com profile] countgeiger talked me into Lord of the Rings Online.

Among my characters is Hrafnhildr, a Dwarf Rune-Keeper.

...the rune keepers are LotRO's "glass cannon" class, and what they DO, is run around arguing people to death and uttering evil prophecies that will hasten their demise, and if you don't kill the goblin (etc) before it gets to you, your weapon isn't an axe or anything: it's a rune-stone, with which you smack them over the head.

Oh, yeah, and heal people. But you learn how to burninate before you learn to healinate.

Arguing people to death and smacking them over the head with lore--you realise what this means?

Heathenry has found its place in online gaming!

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

Haha yep, but when they first came out they made the most irritating electric noise ever, so no one ever wanted to hang out with them!

I have considered starting lotro up again, but endgame got so MEH.

Hrafnhildr has been a name I like to drop in whenever ON is an appropriate language--which, as any reader of the Völuspá knows, means it's obviously what dwarves use for their public names. *nodnod*

My Rohan character is Hravenfeder--there ought to be an eth and an acute-e in there, but the client will not allow them. Same reason, of course: the language of Rohan is "translated" as Anglo-Saxon. *grin*

Next will be an Elven Lore-Mistress, just as soon as I can think of a suitable compound starting with Creban. *giggle*

I played LoTRO briefly, but as I recall there's no Mac client even though it's free now. Boo.

The game's free to download, yis--but no, there's no Mac client. As MSFT owns Turbine, there probably never will be.
