I know that--just like it's hard for a professional singer to go deliberately off-key, or for a good knitter to purposely screw up gauge--and this is the favorite thing that more experienced spinners say to encourage their less-experienced siblings.
I don't want to be as good as a machine (what would be the point?), but better is still better, with more consistent results should I ever actually knit/weave/etc this stuff. *grin*
Once I"m tolerable with pretty boring wool, I'm a-movin' on to my pretty boring alpaca, then to the luxury hanks I have stashed for just such an occasion!
