All righty--if it's cold enough to wear 'em, it's cold enough to make 'em, I'll warrant.

Time to get out my tofu yarn and work me on a gauge swatch, 'cos I bet it's even more colder in Connecticut. *grin*

*squeee!*

And yes, it's in the mid-60's by day and ranging close to the high-40's at night already. Great sweater weather!

And! I finished the gauge swatch, cutesy little green and gold checkerboard. As expected, the green is a little blue--but once it's next to the yellow, it evens out wonderfully.

I still have your measurements...so now I just need the milesandmiles of YARN.

And to figure out what highly amusing things to spell out in gold runes on a green background. 8-P

Well, duh!

Could have a row of Troth bindrunes... ;)

Nah, that'd be silly. Besides, then The Troth would want a piece of the pie, and you'd never stop knitting again...

Also, to confirm before I run around buying vasty quantities of yarn:

1) Pullover or cardigan? (I seem to recall pullover)
2) Relaxed, comfortable fit.
3) Colorwork (green with yellow doodles), not cable (usually one color, textured like vines, twines, and rope).

Yis?

Yis - pullover, relaxed fit, colorwork - I seem to recall the colorwork was yer idear, since you wanted to Practice....

'strewth. It also happens to double the yarn price 'cos, well, it's twice as much yarn! That's why I was flinching and growling about it, but it's not a good test unless it's a complete test.

And besides, I can immortalize it in Heathen Crafts--all grist for the mill. 8-)

Precisely.

And while I do NOT want Troth bindrunes on my sweater (k thanx) you COULD put the pattern *for* said bindrune into Heathen Crafts.

Oh, and did you want doodling on the sleeves as well as the body? NB: the sleevedoodles will match each other, but they almost certainly won't match what's on the body, so you may want plain *cough* green sleeves.

Whee! Okay, that's how we'll roll.

Do I recall correctly that you wanted 3/4 sleeves instead of full length? And did you, i'fact, have an opinion on ribbing?

Full length is fine - if it's too long I can always hand-cuff the sleeves :) It's what I end up doing anyhow, half the time. When we measured, it was for full-length, so.

Ribbing...on cuff, collar, and bottom, you mean? If so, "not too tight" is the watch word. I know that sweaters can stretch, but I a) can't stand feeling bound up (unless...well...but that's another Conversation entirely) and b) when we in the North get cold, we layer, and it's tough to layer if the outer layer is constrictive.

See?
