Are you going to Pantheacon?

Be aware that the Doubletree, the convention hotel, has told me that they are sold out, and they are referring people to either check the convention website's lodging page or to call the store for more information--one surmises that this will give you the same overflow hotel list as visiting the website.

Note I haven't said "is sold out"--hotel booking is a strange and fluid thing: blocks of rooms that were formerly blocked will become available, and if you're in Hilton's frequent guest program, suddenly there may be a room available for you. In the main, though: no.

Be further aware that you cannot book into the Pantheacon block at the primary overflow hotel (Holiday Inn San Jose, (408) 793-3300) until 08 October (at least according to the Pcon website), so put something into your calendar now about that.

Last year, in response to my last year's post on this topic, which included "why haven't we moved?" pentaclemoon wrote an excellent rant about Why PantheaCon Isn't Moving, which I can't find, else I'd link to it here.

since you can't find the rant i'll give you the main reason we've yet to switch hotels. the hotel we hope to move to did not have our weekend available this year. so we could of changed weekends, which would have sucked cuz it wouldn't have been a 3 day weekend, or we stay where we are until next year. it appears that another group has had a standing contract for our weekend for years.

Depending on airfares from the east coast (and I'll start looking into them after I finally ged moved out to the Philly area next week) I'm going to look into attending PantheaCon once again as it would be nice to see you and Diana and Elisheva and our other mutual friends once again.

Hrumph. Well, that makes me not too interested in PantheaCon this year. It was too rough on me commuting the year we didn't get a room and I'm not keen on doing that to myself again.
