Lafayette, We Are Here: Report from DC

Well, I mailed something about today's festivities to the Troth's members' list, and then Diana mailed a thing to that and a few more lists, and then I suggested posting it to her LJ--but then it didn't have the context I'd brought along, so I had to reprovide that, which means this is from both of us--after the cut, her stuff is the plaintext, and mine's in italics.
