Date: 2008-04-24 11:54 pm (UTC)They reeked of ozone, shit, and this unique nasty cricket smell. Even dipped in chocolate, I fear I couldn't possibly bring myself to eat crickets after that.
Oh yeah, and you know how I would find them? They'd always be eating basset hound poop after dark.
*shudder*
However, the rest of it sounds cool. :)

Date: 2008-04-25 03:06 am (UTC)We attended one last year with the kids, and they had loads of things going on. My boys got to create art using maggots in water-based paints, writhing themselves across papers. They still have that painting.
They got to indulge in mealworm salsa and chocolate crickets (in fact, the husband REFUSED to kiss me afterwards until I brushed my teeth, LOL). We saw lots of insect art, and bugs, bugs, bugs!
I have a bit of a deeper interest in bugs. When I was a teenager, I worked with a guy that frames insects for a living. Interesting work.

Date: 2008-04-25 03:08 am (UTC)I'm not big on eating insects, but I don't condone it, either. I mean, as far as I know...we're the only country whose delicacies don't include *some* sort of insect dish, right?
