Tears

Not for me, and not even really for a color-blind Methodist minister from Pittsburgh who tilted television's windmill and won some small victories.

For the world that is just that tiny bit dimmer for this one light having been put out -- though it was time, sure and right enough. He lived well, and thoroughly, and true to himself and his God in all ways and always.

I do not cry very often; I often say I have forgotten how, and mostly it is true.

I cry now.

I don't say hero -- but I would say grace and I would say light because I think these shone through him perhaps a little better than it did through many others.

I would definitely say he's dead, but that it was at the end of a long, well-lived life. I agree with mommybird -- the longest he'll be in purgatory is to change his shoes and put on a sweater.

Thank you, God. I know we don't talk much anymore, but that was a good one.

What a lovely article. I rarely watched Mr. Rogers, but have cousins who adored him.
I think it'll be a poorer world without him.
