I'll be at, and/or working, other presentations besides these--Pomba Gira and almost anything by Elisheva, [livejournal.com profile] erynn999, [livejournal.com profile] dpaxson, and [livejournal.com profile] walkyrja. However, these are my Big Three. Hope to see some of you there!

Oracular Seið with Seiðjallr
Saturday 09:00 PM San Martin/San Simeon

Now, as in the ancient North, seers and seeresses journey to the spirit world to find answers to our questions. This practice comes from the heathen tradition, but all are welcome. The energy of the group strengthens the divination. This session is limited to 60 people. For more information about Seidh, see www.seidh.org

Seidhjallr has served the Pagan community by presenting Oracular rituals in the Norse tradition since 1991. Based in the East Bay, it is associated with Hrafnar kindred. www.seidh.org

Pagan Fiber Arts
Sunday 03:30 PM San Jose

Do the voices in your head, no longer content with spending all your money, now encourage you to buy unusual implements with which to manipulate ever-more-exotic fibers, like seaweed? This panel is open to anyone with interest or experience in any of the fiber and textile arts as applied to their personal magical and/or spiritual practice. At least half of this panel will be devoted to show and tell among the audience, so if you've done something cool, please come and share ow you did it! Lorrie will also report on her recent adventure at the Nordic Knitting Conference.

Lorrie learned pagan spirituality and computer herding at the same time. As a result, she believes that computers are just as much people as anyone else is. A seidhkona working with Seidhjallr, Lorrie works with the Web of Wyrd, and she also practices magical knitting and other crafts involving string. Wouldst thou know more? Silicon Spirits
Monday 11:00 AM San Juan

"Don't anthropomorphize computers. They hate that." Have you named every device in your personal data cloud? Can you describe their personalities? Many of us suspect that computers are inherently magical--but some of us know it. Come hear Lorrie's war stories about her adventures in pagan computing and her speculations about the Worlds' Wyrd Web, and share your own...

I'm sorry you can't make it to ours, but [livejournal.com profile] dpaxson and I, as well as other Seiðjallr members, definitely had Professional Interest in attending yours if schedules permit!

The Ghosts in the Machine one makes me nervous: it's me having to Own My Shit, you know? I won't have anyone else's authority, lore, etc to hide behind here, except the scanty covering of general animist theory.

I'm told I'll do well--we'll see. 8-)

I do get it.

I'm having similar reactions to my two presentations. Only it's the other 'way round for me, 'cause I'm much more afraid of my scholarship not being good enough than my creative intelligence not being good enough. So I'm nervous about my Tarot presentation, but not as nervous as I am about presenting the Bindrune thingy - even though that's the one I've done before with a group.

And neither is actually requiring all that much scholarship. The bindrune thingy is not about the historical significance of bindrunes, or even the meaning of the individual runes. It's just a workshop in how to make 'em pretty, and how to make 'em look historic-ical, or how to obscure that they're runes at all, and different methods that work better for certain purposes than others, design-wise.

Naaghnnn!
