Hey look! I found another ocean-looking shawl pattern to knit!

So many sea shawls, so little time...

You clearly need to make about 100 of these and set up a table down in Half Moon Bay.

Then we can all say 'oh, she sells sea shawls by the seashore!'

I admit, I actually like Urban Goddess better as shawls from that batch of patterns go. The drop-stitchy-gartery thing doesn't appeal too much.

Whereas [livejournal.com profile] dpaxson swooned and started suggesting how one could do it in seven yarns, with each swoopy shell-looking band in a different color, and and and...

That's gorgeous. It almost tempts me to learn to knit, just so that after 5 years of learning various stitches I would be able to make it. Reality check! It's back to crocheting baby clothes for me. I will never have time to knit anyway once I'm chasing a rugrat.

*holds up her hand* I've been knitting for less than five years, total, and was making lace shawls quite early on--you will hear me, now and again, mutter about a muppet sea shawl, done from seven different vareigated blue and/or white eyelash yarns, just simple eyelets in an ever-increasing triangle until I got bored.

It's doable. It really really is.

That's... beautiful.

Aw, dammit, now I want to wear shawls :P

It's so that shawls are considered kinda frumpy, femme-y, old lady-y. I never wear these myself, as such: if they're devotional it's not for me really, if it's a present it's not for me really, and so on.

However, I might consider such a thing to wear to the symphony or similar, as a nicely done shawl fits into the "wrap" ecological niche, and so works well for a Night Out.

Lol. Indeed. Of course, your wearing a shawl is slightly more acceptable than my wearing one ;)

Not a high priority, of course, but still, want.
