Are you going to Pantheacon?

Be aware that the Doubletree, the convention hotel, has told me that they are sold out, and they are referring people to either check the convention website's lodging page or to call the store for more information--one surmises that this will give you the same overflow hotel list as visiting the website.

Note I haven't said "is sold out"--hotel booking is a strange and fluid thing: blocks of rooms that were formerly blocked will become available, and if you're in Hilton's frequent guest program, suddenly there may be a room available for you. In the main, though: no.

Be further aware that you cannot book into the Pantheacon block at the primary overflow hotel (Holiday Inn San Jose, (408) 793-3300) until 08 October (at least according to the Pcon website), so put something into your calendar now about that.

Last year, in response to my last year's post on this topic, which included "why haven't we moved?" [livejournal.com profile] pentaclemoon wrote an excellent rant about Why PantheaCon Isn't Moving, which I can't find, else I'd link to it here.

Hi, we're having about a 50% brownout here at Snug Harbor just now, so we've shut our server down in order to keep it away from the flakey (and insufficient) power. Once I'm done with this post, we'll be shutting the network hardware down as well.

I'll edit when we're back online!

We came back online about three hours later, at 1 AM.

One casualty: the new television.

One serendipitous find: the power cord to the OLD television--hey! [livejournal.com profile] faeryl and [livejournal.com profile] marquisdanbear, you can power that tv now!
