Live from Pantheacon!
Feb. 14th, 2004 10:04 amFrom Wednesday through Saturday of last week, I was too sick to do anything but sit in bed and play Zelda a lot.
Sunday, I got four phone calls at once, letting me know that Sick Leave Was Over, Thanks.
Monday I started digging out from under the accumulation of crap - oh, and Sunday and Monday both were marked by Damn Little Sleep, and Monday Night I realised in a dead panic that if I wanted to have a corset done by the con, dammit I'd better get cracking.
Ah, corsets... I wanted one, and a local talented seamstress is running semi-organized corset-making classes.
Tuesday morning I called her in a dead panic, three days 'til the con, and we decided it was a challenge and ran after it.
Final results?
Well...
Let's just say I look good and can still sing after being stuffed and strapped into my casing. 8-) Thanks to EvilMo and
lferion who came through in the last-minute pinch with advice and strong fingers. The outer half of each boning channel is a bit half-arsed and needs to be redone, and in front the 1/4" spiral steel boning needs to be replaced with 1/2" that we make ourselves... and there's this one grommet that's off in Fresno...
but damn-I-looked-hot. I even went and presented myself to sundry people around the con so They'd Know Dammit.
Go me.
Now I just have to survive guiding seidh in front of all and sundry at P-con, our biggest gig of the year, to be followed tomorrow by seeing for same t another session.
